Yes, NT can be harsh at first and even unfair by moments, but what is brillant about it is the fact that when you confront a great challenge, the mod also give you the tools to overcome it. New Threat offers so much more and this is why it's now my favourite JRPG mod. For exemple, the Unleash mod for FF IX (the greatest RPG of all time) did not feel right to me : with the downscaling of the characters/weapons, the difficulty of the battles, the spongy HP of the enemies, it just felt like a burden to me. Basically, it's a hit or miss for me with JRPG mods, since I want the game to feel new but without losing what I liked during the vanilla experience. I also really like when games give me challenge, so 75% of the time, I mod to add difficulty to the game, but at the same time, I hate it when an overhaul changes the nature of the gameplay itself. I'm a big nerd, a FF and JRPG in general lover and I appreciate modding my favourite games, from Mount and Blade to Fallout 4.
